As a dissolvable chemical pig with a dose of the same chemical composition as PipeRenew® and WellRenew®, PigRenew® is specifically designed as a solution for historically problematic pipelines requiring frequent pig runs with a history of traditional mechanical pigs becoming stuck in the pipeline. PigRenew® is effective in pipelines with paraffin or asphaltene deposition, working to spot our solution to perform its work at the point where deposition is encountered. If our PigRenew® polymer encounters blockage as it travels, it will dissolve in place and not become stuck. PigRenew® works to ensure continuous pipeline operations and significantly reduce future blockage risks. A 1,500-foot thermoplastic pipeline in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana lost communication. Ideal Energy Solutions determined the line was approximately 25% plugged. To clear the blockage, the IES team administered a total of 14 bbls of 6% PipeRenew® in the 2-inch line. A troubled subsea pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico was struggling with severe recurring paraffin and tar deposition problems, leading to repeated blockages and frequent remediation attempts. Following several failed remediations including hot-tap flushes, coiled tubing, chemicals, and biocides, the line was scheduled for abandonment. That’s when IES was brought in. A 4-inch, 6,000 ft oil pipeline in Westhoff, Texas, part of the Eagle Ford | Beveren Pipeline ConocoPhillips, had lost communication for over a month due to severe paraffin wax plugging. Despite several attempts by field operations personnel and the use of chemicals provided by a competing service provider, communication could not be re-established.
