You’ve seen it at Whole Foods. Now look for it in the oilfield.
When we started developing WellRenew® and PipeRenew®, we knew they were safer than the other wellbore and pipeline remediation products on the market. Solid chemistry is the foundation of everything we do and we are continuously exploring new technologies, like sustainable chemistry solutions.
As we tested and developed WellRenew® and PipeRenew®, we realized that their formulations are truly unique from an environmental standpoint. They are biodegradable, non-hazardous and highly effective at removing paraffin wax and asphaltene blockages. We obtained Green Seal® certification for both WellRenew® and PipeRenew® to assure our customers that these products are both safe and effective.
Investors and shareholders have placed an increasing focus on sustainability, particularly in the oil and gas industry. Green oilfield chemicals can help companies meet those demands. As the only oilfield-specific Green Seal® Certified products on the market, WellRenew® and PipeRenew® are ahead of the curve.
Green Seal® is a global nonprofit organization with a mission to transform the economy for a healthier, greener world. More than 30 years ago, Green Seal® pioneered ecolabeling in the United States with a consumer-friendly seal to help buyers make safer, greener choices with confidence. This served to speed the market adoption of healthy and sustainable products, drive manufacturers toward leadership-level sustainability benchmarks, and provide consumers with their first independent source for proven greener products.
Green Seal® has certified thousands of leading products, services, and spaces to its rigorous standards for health, environmental sustainability, and product performance. Today, the Green Seal® certification mark is a universal symbol that a product or service meets the highest benchmark of health and environmental leadership.
While many of Green Seal® certified products are consumer items like household cleaners and paper goods, most are for commercial or industrial use. This includes paint, adhesives, sanitary paper, and industrial cleaning and laundry products, among others.
To receive a Green Seal® certification mark, products must adhere to Green Seal® standards at every point from creation through to packaging, end use, and disposal.
The full list of standards for specialty cleaning products can be viewed here.
Many oilfield operations are located near sensitive aquatic environments or population centers. Oilfield products can come in contact with soil and water—potentially above ground and in the water table as well—and product toxicity can result in damage to the environment and human health. Using environmentally responsible chemicals is critical to prevent ecological damage and keep workers and the surrounding community safe and healthy.
When a company applies for certification, it provides its formula, packaging and other product information to Green Seal®. Green Seal® analyzes the product’s composition to verify that it uses no known carcinogens or prohibited materials, such as heavy metals, phthalates, and ozone-depleting compounds, among others. The suppliers of the product’s raw materials must also verify that they adhere to Green Seal® standards. Once Green Seal® confirms that the product formulations are compliant, representatives visit the manufacturing facility to verify practices and processes.
After bestowing a Green Seal® certification upon a product, the organization conducts ongoing compliance monitoring to ensure that its standards continue to be met. Green Seal® also reviews performance data for each product, because the organization believes that products must be both environmentally responsible and effective to best incentivize consumers. Companies must prove that their products meet or exceed the efficacy of similar, non-green products.
We are proud to manufacture two Green Seal® certified products: WellRenew® and PipeRenew®.
WellRenew® is our wellbore remediation solution that removes paraffin wax and asphaltene blockages in downhole tubulars. It neutralizes the charge associated with paraffin stickiness and creates a simple soap that helps break the paraffin apart, allowing it to be pumped. WellRenew® is temperature independent and specially formulated for any well depth.
PipeRenew® is our remediation solution that removes paraffin wax and asphaltene blockages in any flowline or pipeline. It contains surfactants and encapsulated oxygen, and can be blended onsite with any source of water available, including fresh water, salt water or produced water. PipeRenew® is temperature independent and custom blended to penetrate plugs over any length of pipe.
